I’d like you to meet Daniel Duck! He’s a sweet little quacker and loves dinosaurs, dancing, and duck duck goose! Pretty much anything with the letter “D”. Also, since his head is pretty close to round, he’s easy to make! Here’s what you need to make him:
Materials:

· Felt (Dark green, gray/white, orange, black, red)
· Scissors
· Pen
· Fabric glue
· Velcro dots
· Puppet base
Instructions:

Place the dark green over the puppet base.
Trace around the head of the base. You can go a little wider if desired.

Cut along the line, and shape your head how you want it. You can leave it fairly round, or you can take a little out close to the top to give him more defined cheeks. I would recommend to fold the head in half before you shape it, so that whatever you do to one side matches the other.

Place a small rectangle of green behind the top of the head, and draw a few feathers on top. (It took me a few tries to get the look I wanted.)

Cut out the feathers.

Place the grey over the bottom neck portion and trace the neck band.
Cut along the line. You can fold it in half if you want it to be more symmetrical.

Draw and cut a rounded rectangle of orange for the beak. I would cut it big, and then trim it to the shape you want it to be.

Draw and cut eyes in your desired shape. I like the half-oval look, but other shapes work great also. Cut out two small circles of black for pupils.

Place the black over the bottom part of the beak, and draw a half oval just smaller than the orange part. Cut it out.
Place the red over the black and draw a half oval just smaller than the black. Cut it out.

Glue the red on the black. Then glue both on the bottom part of the orange.
Fold the orange in half and put a line of glue along the inside of the crease. Put something heavy on the crease until it’s dry. This half-gluing will give the beak the half-open happy look.

Glue the beak, eyes, neck stripe, and feathers onto the face.
Arrange the Velcro dots on the back so they align with the others on the puppet base.
Daniel Duck is ready! Better start working on your quacking!
